Atlanta Ice House Pro Shop
The Atlanta Ice House is the rink in the Compete Center in Marietta, and its own list of amenities includes a pro shop and skate sharpening. The building is home to the junior Atlanta Madhatters of the USPHL, the Madhatters Skating Academy and the Madhatters youth hockey club, so the shop sits among players and figure skaters who train there every week.
The complex is big for a rink: an NHL-size sheet and a smaller training rink share the 130,000-square-foot building with an Olympic-size pool and workout space. It is just off Interstate 75, around the corner from the Kennesaw State campus, which puts it closest to skaters in Cobb and Cherokee counties.
Call the rink before a trip just for the shop, and tell the counter whether the pair is figure or hockey skates when you leave it. For a wider choice of hockey equipment, Pure Hockey has a store in Roswell, to the east.
Not stated: hockey, goalie, figure, speed / long-track, recreational & rental.
