Gunzo’s Hockey Headquarters Chicago

Hockey shop

Gunzo’s Hockey Headquarters Chicago storefront
The corner of the building on West Madison Street where Gunzo’s Chicago store sits, with its neon sign in the window.

Gunzo’s city store is on the ground floor of a corner building on West Madison Street in the West Loop, the stretch of the Near West Side where Chicago’s pro and youth hockey meet. The Blackhawks’ practice rink at Fifth Third Arena is half a mile away, Johnny’s IceHouse West is about a mile west, and the United Center is a short walk.

That makes it the natural stop for a sharpening on the way to a game: the shop’s own page pictures exactly that, a player getting skates done before taking the ice at Johnny’s. Sharpening is walk-in, so arrive with a little time to spare before warm-ups.

Gunzo’s has supported Chicago players for more than 50 years and also has stores in River Forest and Morton Grove. Figure skaters should look for a figure specialist, as the shop’s own page suggests.

Sharpens: hockey. Not stated: goalie, figure, speed / long-track, recreational & rental.
