Jerry’s Hockey Mail-In Skate Sharpening

Mail-in skate sharpening (Jerry’s Hockey)

Jerry’s Hockey Mail-In Skate Sharpening storefront
Jerry’s Hockey’s Schaumburg building, where mail-in skates are sent; the shop door is under the blue Entrance awning.

Jerry’s mail-in service is for players who cannot get to one of the company’s counters: you choose sharpening, profiling or both online, then post your steel or skates to the Jerry’s building in Schaumburg and the work is done there by ProSharp-certified technicians. Jerry’s says the service is open to customers nationwide.

It suits a family that has moved away from the Chicago area but wants to keep the same cut, or a player whose local rink has no sharpener. Profiling by post is useful when you change holders or want a new radius without driving across the metro.

Pack the blades with guards on and soft padding around them, and put your order number in the box. If you live near Schaumburg, Crestwood, Carpentersville or Mount Prospect, the counters are usually quicker than the post.

Sharpens: hockey, profiling / contouring. Not stated: goalie, figure, speed / long-track, recreational & rental.
