Skate Sharpening at OhioHealth Chiller Dublin
OhioHealth Chiller Dublin is a two-rink building on the north-west side of the metro, home ice for the Columbus Chill Youth Hockey Association, Dublin and Hilliard high school hockey and a string of tournaments through the season. Like every Chiller rink, it takes in skates for the Chiller’s own sharpening service at the front desk, so a player can leave a pair before practice and collect it on a later visit.
The service comes from a sharpener who spent about thirty years as an equipment manager for the Columbus Blue Jackets and the old Columbus Chill, and the Chiller describes it as hockey sharpening. Figure skaters and goalies should ask at the desk before handing over a pair.
The building was completely renovated in 2020. For new gear, Pure Hockey’s Sawmill Place store is a short drive east, and Keegs Sharpening in Plain City, a few minutes north-west, works on figure skates as well as hockey skates.
