Skate Sharpening at OhioHealth Chiller North
Chiller North in Lewis Center is the biggest Chiller building, with three NHL-size rinks, seating for about a thousand spectators and an enclosed upstairs viewing area. The Olentangy, Olentangy Liberty and Olentangy Orange high school teams, Thomas Worthington, Worthington Kilbourne and the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets all play here.
With that much hockey under one roof, the front desk is a handy place to hand in skates for the Chiller’s sharpening service, which every Chiller rink collects for. The work is done by a sharpener with three decades as an equipment manager for the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Columbus Chill, and the Chiller describes it as hockey sharpening, so figure skaters and goalies should ask at the desk before leaving a pair.
Pure Hockey’s Westerville store, near Polaris a few minutes to the south, is the closest hockey shop for new gear.
