What this place is
MonkeySports’ Allen superstore, opened in April 2017, for hockey, baseball, softball and lacrosse equipment.
MonkeySports Allen
MonkeySports opened its Allen superstore in April 2017. The company began as a single hockey store in California and now runs mostly online, with a handful of shops in North America, and this one is a big store for hockey, baseball, softball and lacrosse rather than a hockey-only shop.
For skaters the draw is the service area: hockey skates are sharpened and repaired on site, and the foot-scanning fit system helps pick a stock skate before buying one. Allen Community Ice Rink is under three miles away and Children’s Health StarCenter McKinney about four, so a visit fits easily around a practice at either rink.
The store asks customers to call ahead and book repair work, so phone before bringing in skates that need a holder swapped or a rivet replaced.
Sharpens: hockey. Not stated: goalie, figure, speed / long-track, recreational & rental.
Fitting & heat molding
3D skate fitting with a foot scanner, skate heat fitting and boot stretching.
Repairs
Holder mounting with or without drilling, copper and steel rivet replacement and eyelet replacement.
