What this place is
B&R Sports’ Shelby Township store, a standalone hockey shop.
B&R Sports Shelby Township
Most of B&R Sports’ Detroit-area stores sit inside ice arenas, but the Shelby Township store is a standalone shop in a brick strip centre on Hayes Road, in the middle of Macomb County’s rink belt. It is one of the chain’s three stores with fit centres from all three major skate makers, which makes it a good place to try different boots before a big purchase.
Mount Clemens Ice Arena and Suburban Ice Macomb are each about five miles away, with Big Boy Arena in Fraser and Suburban Ice Rochester a little further, and B&R has its own store inside each of those buildings for a quick sharpening on game day.
A visit here suits a planned fitting or a new pair; the in-rink stores are handier for a touch-up before practice.
