The Gründelstadion in Geising, part of the town of Altenberg in the eastern Ore Mountains, is a city-run ice hall that calls itself a winter-sports paradise for the whole family, with conditions for skating and ice hockey alike. Ice-stock sport has a long tradition in Geising: the section of ice-stock shooters was founded here in 1954. Curling, which the hall describes as chess on ice, is played in the hall as well.
Teams use the hall for ice hockey training and matches, and the Miriquidi ice hockey tournament was held there in January 2026. School classes and groups can use the ice from eight in the morning by arrangement, and the town offers them discounts for groups of 12 or more on request.
