Paradise Playcenter in Monsano, near Jesi, opened in January 1989 as the largest entertainment centre in the Marche, with ice skating and roller skating, a games room and a bowling alley under one roof. Giulio Marconato took over the management in 1991, and the centre says the Marconato family has led it for more than three decades.
The ice has been put to other uses over the years. In summer it served first as a water-scooter track, from 2003, then as a go-kart track, and from 2017 as an indoor paintball arena. In 2006 the Paradise Curling Club was founded and a two-sheet curling hall was built, described as the first and only one in central-southern Italy. The curling team is not currently active.
Today the rink is a covered 750-square-metre sheet that the centre calls the only palaghiaccio in the Marche. The rink surface and its power generator were replaced in 2022 for better ice quality and energy efficiency, and figure-skating courses have been offered since 2016.
