A national-level speed skating track in Asker

Risenga kunstisbane is a full-size speed skating track good enough for competitions at the top national level, and it is sized to hold a full bandy field. It is normally open from November to March, and the municipality also prepares many smaller natural-ice rinks around Asker.

The ice is heavily used, which is why the kommune asks stick-and-puck players to keep to the south-west side by the clubhouse and children and parents to the Askerhall side. The clubhouse is owned by Asker kommune and run by Asker skøyteklubb, which also handles hire. The club has invested in a lap-counting system called myLaps, aimed mainly at fitness skaters.

The sports park around the rink is used by about 1.7 million people a year, and the club trains on the whole track on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
