A 375-square-metre open-air rink in the middle of the Christmas market
The Eisbahn stands in the middle of the decorated Inowroclaw-Platz, and it is open-air skating on real ice over 375 square metres right inside the Christmas market. It is the central meeting point of the market in Bad Oeynhausen's town centre.
Wooden huts with plenty of food and drink surround the ice, and Bad Oeynhausen meets there for a sociable Budenzauber. Crêpes, fries, sausages and sweets are among the treats on offer, a children's carousel is part of the same corner of the market, and a public toilet trailer stands at the ice.
The rink belongs to the Weihnachtsmarkt run by the Staatsbad Bad Oeynhausen, so it is open every day of the market, from 23 November to 27 December, with shortened hours on Christmas Eve.
