Luxembourg's oldest ice rink, under a tent roof

Ice Park Beaufort is described as the oldest ice rink in Luxembourg: it opened in 1969 and is still a regional meeting place for young and old. The rink's own pages call it the most traditional ice rink in the country, skated under a distinctive tent roof. That roof is a membrane structure by Koch Membranen, in place since 2011. The architect Michael Kiefer of Radolfzell designed it, and the 2,700 square metre cover is made in three parts. At night the light shines out through the fabric and turns the whole building into a giant lantern.

The local ice hockey club, the Beaufort Knights, promises exciting matches and invites visitors to come to its home games. Away from the ice, the snack bar called De Puck serves hot drinks and snacks, and the rink has offered children's skating courses on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
