A Christmas-market rink around the decorated tree on Bernau's Marktplatz, from 23 November to 18 December 2026, with free entry

For the third time a rink is set up in the middle of Bernau's Marktplatz, around the richly decorated Christmas tree. Skaters of all ages can take their rounds to quiet music from late November until the middle of December, and the city's cultural office lists the rink in its programme for the Bernau Christmas market.

The rink is open every afternoon from 14:00, until 20:00 from Sunday to Thursday and until 21:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, and skating itself costs nothing. Skates are not lent out on the square itself: visitors without their own pair collect one at the Goldener Löwen inn, at the corner of Brauerstraße and Breite Straße, for a set period of 90 minutes at a time.
