Norway's second indoor speed-skating oval

Fosenhallen opened on 14 September 2007 as Norway's second indoor speed-skating track, after Vikingskipet in Hamar. It is a multi-use hall with a 400 m skating oval, an ice hockey rink, curling and ball sports, and a full-size 30 by 60 metre ice surface for hockey, figure skating and short track.

The ice plant is the cold side of a heat-pump system in the Botngård district-heating network, which makes running the artificial ice cheap. The air in the skating hall is not heated, so record conditions like Vikingskipet's are not possible here.

The first major meet was the 2008 allround national championships, with about 1,500 spectators on the first day. From 2007 to 2013 the hall staged 121 speed-skating meets, and in spring 2014 it hosted the ISU Junior World Cup final and the junior world championships. The 2026 national sprint and allround championships were held there too.
