Official schedule update
Kvartal 99 is a winter ice rink above a car park in front of the county building in central Bodø, at Hålogalandsgata and Prinsens gate. It belongs to an activity park with exercise machines, parkour elements, a street-basketball court, play areas, benches and tables, a boccia court, chess tables and a small amphitheatre.
The ice is chilled, so skating is possible even when the weather is a little warmer, and the municipality clears, waters and prepares it with a machine almost every day. On maintenance days the rink is ready for activity from 11.00 at the earliest, and the municipality relies on volunteers to keep the afternoon ice in good condition.
A volunteer-run café stand serves the rink in winter. The kiosk is offered to clubs, associations and school classes raising money for charity, and is free to borrow every weekend from the first Advent weekend.
