A tent-covered rink open since 2012
New Ice Jégpálya is a rink of 450 square metres with a family atmosphere, covered by a tent roof so that the weather makes no difference, and open from early October to April. Since 2012 it has hosted 30,000 to 40,000 skaters a season, adults and children, according to the operator.
Besides public sessions the ice carries skating lessons for children from age three and the youth club Budaörs Villámok, which takes boys and girls aged three to ten. Weekday mornings are kept for nursery and school groups, who get discounted hockey teaching and ice use, and lessons for all levels are given by trained instructors.
Every month the rink stages events and competitions, among them small-pitch amateur hockey cups and shows of synchronised and figure skating, and it is a popular place for birthday parties. From the first weekend of December an ice labyrinth opens, reached from the indoor ice and running to the end of February.
