Cieszyn's Olympians' hall: an ice rink from September to March
The Hala Widowiskowo-Sportowa is a multi-purpose hall that works mainly as an artificial ice rink from September to March, and as a sports and exhibition hall in the other months. The ice measures 30 by 60 metres and is used for ice hockey, short track, figure skating, curling and public sessions, as well as discos and games on the ice.
A special multi-sport floor turns the hall into a court for basketball, volleyball, handball and indoor football, and its concrete surface serves roller hockey and roller skating. It also has a concert hall and can host fairs and exhibitions.
Depending on its function the hall holds between 805 and 1,705 spectators. While the rink is open there are public sessions, classes, skating schools and competitions, and a snack bar serves hot food, drinks and sweets.
