Two covered rinks, the first built in 2004
The Debreceni Jégcsarnok on Derék utca opened in 2004 as a curved-roof hall with a glued-timber frame, and its ice measures 28 by 58 metres, or 1,624 square metres. The stand holds 500 people, 400 of them for the home side and 100 for visitors, and the hall as a whole takes 750.
The city soon outgrew it, and a twin hall of steel followed in October 2014 with a 30 by 60 metre surface of 1,800 square metres and room for 200 people, mainly for youth development. The main hall hosts Erste Liga hockey, youth championships, national and international tournaments, skating galas and speed-skating races, and it regularly joins the national Jégpályák Éjszakája night with special programmes.
The Debreceni Sportcentrum, set up in 2000 and owned by the city, operates the ice halls.
