Dordrecht's Sportboulevard rink, opened in 2010 and a short track venue

The idea for the Sportboulevard dates from the late 1990s, when the expansion of the Albert Schweitzer hospital meant removing the Aquapulca outdoor pool and an adjacent tennis hall. The sports centre opened in October 2010: the swimming pool on 7 October and the ice hall for skating from 31 October. The rink is the successor of the Drechtstedenhal, which has since been demolished, and the pool also had predecessors on the same ground.

Dordrecht Lions play ice hockey here, and the figure skating club Kunstrijvereniging De Drechtsteden Dordrecht (DDD) is based on the ice. The hall has become a short track venue. It hosted World Cup rounds from 2011/12 onwards, the European Championships in 2015 and 2019 and the World Cup final of February 2016, for which 500 seats were added after Sjinkie Knegt was voted sportsman of the year.

The 2021 World Championships were moved here from Ahoy in Rotterdam because of the coronavirus pandemic. The hall also hosted the 2016 European korfball championship, and 3,189 solar panels were installed in 2023.
