The Dr.-Rudolf-Stadion is the home of the Eissportclub Dorfen, which has departments for figure skating, ice-stock shooting, in-line hockey, in-line skating and ice hockey. The club was founded in 1967, and its senior team first appeared in higher-level league ice hockey in 1983/84 in the Regionalliga Süd.
The team won the Bayernliga title in 1994 and again in 1996, and the second title brought promotion to the 2. Liga Süd. Since the 2002/03 season it has played in the Bayernliga.
The ESC Dorfen works with the ESV Gebensbach, which plays in the same stadium and has its seat in Taufkirchen; the ESV won the Bayerische Bezirksliga championship in 2007. The club's public-skating page says that ice sport is fun and keeps people in shape, and that in the school holidays it adds extra public sessions to its calendar.
