The Hockey Club Neumarkt-Egna was founded in 1963 and organised the Dolomitencup training tournament each year around 15 August. Its real home ground, the Wild Goose Arena, held about 500 spectators and was demolished in 2008, so for a time home games were played at the Raiffeisen Arena in Kaltern. The replacement on a new site had its topping-out celebration on 20 June 2010 and is now called the WürthArena after its sponsor.
The ice hall was inaugurated in 2010 and holds up to 1,200 spectators on a fully covered 30 by 60 metre ice surface. It has hosted most editions of the Dolomiten Cup, an invitational friendly tournament that draws teams from the German DEL, Italy's top league, the EBEL and occasionally other European leagues.
Today three teams call it home: the men's Hockey Unterland Cavaliers, created in 2019 by the merger of HC Neumarkt-Egna and SC Auer, the women's Hockey Club Lakers, and the South Tyrol Eagles sledge hockey team.
