A youth-hockey hall at Érd, built in record time from 2018
The Érdi Jégcsarnok dates from 29 March 2018, when its foundation stone was laid. The Kárpáti Farkasok sports club built it for youth hockey with tax-credit support and investor money, and the stone-laying speeches said the rink would also serve leisure and school sport.
The club's president, Attila Balázs, brought a love of hockey from Gyergyóremete in Székelyland, and the club descends from the Hargitai Farkasok team founded in 2006. The build took record time: an adult Erste Liga game was played here on 20 January 2019, and the club began recruiting children from Érd and nearby towns from February 2019.
The ice is 60 metres long and 26 wide, with boards built to current standards, and the hall keeps working through the summer. By January 2020 more than 110 children were training, and the club's U10 team won bronze at the Santa Claus Cup in Dunaújváros.
