Esbjerg's 2019 arena beside the 1976 hall

Ice sport at Esbjerg Idrætspark goes back to an ice stadium on the old cycle track, which was closed in 1974 when an inflated hall for ice sports went up. The hall disappeared in a storm in 1976, and the Skøjtehal 1 of that time was built in record time and was in use before the winter was over.

Granly Hockey Arena was inaugurated in 2019. The show hall is described as one of the largest and most modern ice halls in Denmark, with room for 3,863 spectators in all, 2,216 of them seated. Built together with it is skating hall 2, mainly a training hall used by skaters and ice hockey players from morning to evening.

The skating halls are best known as the home of Esbjerg Energy, and they are also where the city's young skaters and ice hockey players train.
