A covered 18 by 38 metre rink on the Arno, set up in 2022 from the old Winter Park equipment
Currently out of season The palaghiaccio runs from November to February; the association's latest public-hours notice covers 7 January to 22 February 2026 and the 2026-27 hours are not posted yet. Official schedule update
The Palaghiaccio Giglio Bianco on the Lungarno in Florence is a covered rink of 18 by 38 metres, among the largest in Tuscany. ASD Giglio Bianco, the association that runs it, obtained the permits to set up its own ice on 28 October 2022 and took over the equipment of the Winter Park rink.
The association was founded in 2010 to promote ice skating. Its skating school opened in the 2011-2012 season, and in 2013-14 it moved its base to Florence, where the Winter Park had by then been established. That rink stayed closed in the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 seasons because of Covid-19.
The ice is cleaned by a professional WM Technics Pinguino resurfacer every three hours, at each change of free-skating or training session. The school holds an open day each season: in 2025 it was on 15 and 16 November.
