A 240-square-metre real-ice rink in the middle of Georgsmarienhütte

GMHütte on Ice, now in its 15th season, turns the Roter Platz in Georgsmarienhütte into an ice rink from mid-November to early January. The rink offers 240 square metres of real ice, which the organisers describe as first-class real ice, whether you are a pro or on the ice for the first time.

A festively lit hut village with food and drink and a varied programme surrounds the ice, and one of the biggest Eisstock tournaments in the region takes place alongside the open skating. In the town centre families and friends meet to skate, watch and cheer.

In the mornings the ice belongs exclusively to local schools, with school bookings opening in September. Rental skates are available on site.
