A city-run rink on Görlitz's Obermarkt
The Eislaufbahn stands at the Unteres Parkdreieck on the Obermarkt in Görlitz and is run by the Görlitzer Kulturservicegesellschaft, a company of the city. Market huts around the 450 square metre ice surface serve warm food and drinks, and the 2026/27 edition celebrates eleven years of the rink.
A few steps away the Silesian Christkindelmarkt runs from 4 to 20 December. Local school classes are invited to move one or two sports lessons onto the ice in November and December, and at most two classes can reserve the rink on any day. A sponsors' ice-stock tournament has also been held on the rink, for example on 28 November 2023, and the rink counts up to ten ice hours a day in its daily blocks.
