A municipal sports palace in Gubkin with a 60 by 30 metre ice sheet and 1,500 seats
The Kristall sports palace is one of the most visited places in Gubkin, a town in Belgorod Oblast. Besides the ice arena it holds a universal sports hall, a gym and a choreography hall, and the arena has stands for 1,500 spectators around a 60 by 30 metre ice sheet.
The ice is managed with computer-controlled equipment that avoids the dew and mist that can form over an ice sheet. Most weekday hours go to training by the city sports school, with breaks for ice preparation, and the public mass-skating sessions are posted week by week; in the current week they fall on the weekend.
The palace itself is open every day from morning until evening, and a hire point lends skates for the mass sessions.
