A castle-like hall that becomes an all-weather rink

At Himeji Central Park, the standout building known as the Castle of the Wind turns into an all-weather indoor skating rink, and the rink is open to anyone with a park entry ticket.

The rink counter lends skates, among them a proper figure skate from the Graf brand and twin-edge skates that let children who have never skated before try with confidence, and 200 lockers are provided. The ice is resurfaced once or twice a day, for 10 to 15 minutes at a time, so that skating stays comfortable.

Skating here is a trip within a larger day out, because the same ticket also covers the amusement park, the safari and the pool. Gloves are compulsory on the ice, and the page asks parents and carers to keep their eyes on their children. Visitors with a disability certificate pay a reduced park entry fee, shown at the ticket window.

The park's page says the 2026 season is planned to open on 19 December, so the rink is closed until then and the schedule is worth rechecking on the park's own page before travelling.
