Artificial-ice rink completely renovated in 2016, with a new clubhouse and seven ice stock lanes
Currently out of season The city's page says the rink is open from December to February and that the start of the season is announced under 'Aktuelles' on the city website; no opening date for winter 2026/27 is posted yet. Official schedule update
The Kunsteisbahn Hollabrunn was completely renovated in 2016, and a new clubhouse with a 177 square metre panoramic terrace was built some years ago. The ice has seven ice stock lanes inside the boards and hockey markings for practice sessions. About 14,000 guests used the ice in the season after the renovation, and the opening in November 2017 drew a record of about 250 skaters.
Besides the daily public skating, many schools and the local skating club, with figure skating and ice hockey, use the rink. In summer the lanes serve as asphalt courts, and the ice stock shooters switch back to the ice when it returns.
In October 2023 the town said it would keep the rink running through the energy crisis: the renovated ice tubes allow the season to start with an ice thickness of only four to five centimetres. On 25 January 2026 the winter's skating courses ended with a closing show in which about 70 children performed.
