The Ishikawa prefectural sports plaza's ice rink, open from October to June
The ice rink of Kenmin Sporec Plaza is on the second floor of a sports complex in Nishiizumi, Kanazawa, run by the Ishikawa prefectural public corporation, and describes itself as a rink where beginners can skate easily during general hours. Its season opened in October and runs to June, after a summer closure.
The building also has an indoor practice ground on the first floor, and its exterior wall works have been completed and the whole building now has LED lighting. The rink asks skaters to use short-blade figure or hockey skates in general hours.
The rink holds events through the season: a beginners' skating class by the skating federation on 11 October, Halloween group performances and children's ice hockey taster days. Fans of the anime Hasunosora Girls' Academy visit the rink as a filming location, and the rink says watching from the entrance and beside the ice is free.
