Karviná's covered winter stadium of 1971 with a second tiny rink
The first ice in Karviná was an unroofed surface on the site that is now a car park. A plan to roof and rebuild it was never carried out. Instead the town decided to build a new stadium, modern for its time, with 3,600 seats, and the covered stadium dates from 1971.
Today the stadium has two ice surfaces and holds 7,500 spectators. The main one measures 60 by 30 metres, 1,800 square metres. The small one measures 15 by 9 metres, 135 square metres, and is the stadium's rarity: it is reserved for teaching children to skate, players up to the third school year, figure skating and goalkeeper training.
Outside the hockey season, in April, May and June, a plastic sports surface laid over the concrete is used for inline hockey on roller skates and related sports.
