One of the first Kazan Universiade venues, opened in October 2009 with a 1,000-seat ice arena
Zilant opened in October 2009 as one of the first sports venues commissioned for the Kazan Universiade. Its main space is a covered ice arena with artificial ice and stands for 1,000 spectators.
The building also holds two fitness rooms and a games hall, a choreography hall, and medical and administrative blocks, and the arena has six dressing rooms. The youth sports school Zilant, with 11 coaches, is based in the complex and takes in children regardless of where they live.
Events held here include the fifth All-Russian festival of amateur hockey, the student league's Opening Cup and a play-off match of the 2018-19 Student Hockey League championship. Every year the ice complex hosts master classes and training camps with well-known hockey players, friendly tournaments and matches.
