A 10,500 square metre sports hall in Kongsberg with a 4,500-capacity ice hall, home of Kongsberg Ishockey
Kongsberghallen is a sports hall in Kongsberg with 10,500 square metres of floor space. According to Wikipedia it opened on 22 January 1988 as the 17th ice hall in Norway, while the hall's own page says it was completed in 1989. The stands take 4,500 spectators, 2,300 of them standing. The hall is built for both sport and commercial events, and the sports park and its forest trails lie only 100 metres away.
The ice hall is home to Kongsberg Ishockey (KIF), and the hall also hosts the basketball team Kongsberg Miners. Over the years it has had a new ice plant in autumn 2013, a new scoreboard in 2019 and LED lighting in the ice hall in 2023.
Away from sport, the hall has staged car shows, dog shows, trade fairs and concerts. Kongsberg Jazzfestival has brought artists such as Diana Krall, Pat Metheny and Michael Brecker to the hall.
