An open-air 400 m2 rink on the Brink in Laren

Winter Village Laren puts an open-air rink of 400 square metres on the Brink every winter, and the organisers call skating there their favourite winter tradition. The ice suits skaters of every level, from people gliding easily round the track to children taking their first steps.

Children can learn on the ice in a course of three one-hour lessons given by qualified RoKo Sports instructors, and each child finishes with a skating diploma. Schools from Laren and the surrounding area skate outside the general opening times, with room for two classes an hour and at most 60 pupils.

On Wednesday evenings the ice is reserved for a curling competition, and the activity calendar adds disco skating, meet and greets and visits from Sinterklaas's Pieten. The season opens with an official ceremony and a demonstration on the ice.
