Leoben's ice hall, a central site for Styrian ice sport

The Eishalle Leoben has been a fixture of the town for twenty years, according to a report of July 2025: a place where children turn their first pirouettes. Its winter season covers ice hockey, skating and ice stock shooting. With the leasing payments over, the hall now belongs fully to the city, which says it stands by the site as a cornerstone for regional ice sport.

Styria's ice sport came under pressure in autumn 2025: the Bruck ice stadium had announced its final closure in summer. In December 2025 the local paper described the Leoben hall as increasingly the central site for training, league games and youth development in the region and beyond, and the Styrian hockey federation reported rising numbers of players and already too few ice times.

The hall is a fixed part of Leoben's sports landscape and is well accepted by the public. The LE Kings held their Krampus ice disco there with the city on a Tuesday in early December 2025.
