Lidköping's bandy arena, opened on Christmas Day 2009 with public skating and a record crowd of 5,329 in 2016
Sparbanken Lidköping Arena was under construction from 7 October 2008 and opened on Christmas Day 2009, with the public skating that Lidköping traditionally holds on that day. The next day Villa Lidköping BK hosted IFK Kungälv in the first bandy match in the arena, which drew 4,425 spectators.
The artificial ice measures 67 by 113 metres and is kept frozen from September to March. The floor is large enough for just over four ice hockey rinks, with normally 1,226 seats and more than 3,000 standing places; the ceiling beams are 12.5 metres up, and the walls are silver-metallic sheet and black timber panels.
The attendance record of 5,329 was set on 2 December 2016, when Villa Lidköping BK played IFK Vänersborg. The arena has also hosted the Andra chansen round of Melodifestivalen in 2014, a Davis Cup tie, handball qualifiers and a superenduro world championship.
