Malchow's ice hall: real ice in winter, home of the Malchower Wölfe, plastic ice in summer
Currently out of season The town's page for the Eishalle Malchow says the winter season (real ice) starts on 16 October and runs to April, Tuesday to Sunday from 14:30 to 17:30 and until 20:00 on the second Friday of the month. The page prints no year, so check the dates for this season. Checked 8 October 2026. Official schedule update
The Eishalle in Malchow puts fun and variety first, from first steps on the ice to fast skating, an ice disco and Ostseeliga hockey. In winter the hall serves both public skating and matches of the Ostseeliga and the hobby hockey league, and its fixed calendar includes the Insulaner-Cup and the city championships. Every Saturday there is a skating school at 9:00 for the youngest and junior hockey training at 9:30.
Real ice is laid for the winter season, which the hall's pages date from mid-October or November to April, while from June to September the hall uses a 600 square metre surface of plastic Like-Ice, which the town calls the largest artificial ice surface in Germany and a popular excursion in the holiday region. In autumn and May the hall closes for a while to change over, and a kiosk serves hot and cold drinks and snacks.
