The ice hall at Meranarena measures 60 by 30 metres. It is open to visitors who want to skate, and it also hosts local, regional, national and international hockey tournaments, curling competitions and figure skating events. Ice sports fill the hall from mid-July to mid-April, and it holds 2,486 spectators.
From November to March a second, outdoor rink opens beside it. It is a 58 by 28 metre figure skating pad with a stand for up to 170 people, and school classes in Merano come to it for sports projects or simply a turn on skates.
The ice hall is one part of a larger sports complex that also has an indoor pool, a play pool, six tennis courts, four of them covered, and a climbing gym.
