Friday and Saturday evening mass skating in a palace that seats more than 1,700
No public skating is posted for the next 7 days. New sessions show here as soon as the rink posts them.
The Kristall ice palace in Mezhdurechensk opened on 12 January 2001 and has since become an architectural ornament of the town. The opening day ended with the first hockey match in its history, between veterans of Novokuznetsk's Metallurg and the local Vympel club.
The ice oval measures 60 by 30 metres, the European standard, and the ice is 5 centimetres thick, formed by 22.5 kilometres of pipes. The main equipment was designed and supplied by the American company York International, and the hockey boards were made and installed by the Swedish firm DACO.
The arena can host shows and sports events for more than 1,700 seated spectators. Mass skating for the public is announced week by week, usually on Friday and Saturday evenings.
