Old open-air ice rink rebuilt as a roofed hall, opened 17 December 2009; home of EV Moosburg and EV Aich
The Clariant Arena in Moosburg came from a complete renovation of the old open-air ice surface: the work ran from March to November 2009, and the official opening celebration was held on 17 December 2009, with the renovated, roofed hall open to the public after just six months. For noise protection the roofed hall was fully enclosed from spring 2014 until September 2014 and reopened to the public in October 2014.
Until 2019 it was called the Sparkassen-Arena, and since October 2019 the Moosburg company Clariant has been its namesake. The city of Moosburg runs the covered ice stadium.
The arena is the home of two ice-hockey clubs: the EV Moosburg, which grew out of a department of the Sportgemeinschaft Moosburg and became independent after the 1984/85 season, and the EV Aich, founded in 1976.
