The Nes ice hall at Årnes, where open skating and loop hockey filled the ice every Saturday last season
Currently out of season Nes Ishockeyklubb's last post (March 2026) closes the 2025/26 season, with the last public skating on Saturday 28 March, and says the plan is for the ice to be ready again in August-September; last season's pattern was frigåing 12.00-14.00 and løkkehockey 14.00-15.00 every Saturday. No 2026/27 date is posted yet. Checked on 4 October 2026. Official schedule update
Runnirinken ishall at Årnes is run by Nes Ishockeyklubb. In the 2025 season the club opened it to the public every Saturday through the autumn and winter: open skating (frigåing) from 12.00 to 14.00 and loop hockey from 14.00 to 15.00. On the first Saturday of that season, 6 September, 20 to 30 children and adults came.
The 2025 season began after a lightning strike in the summer put the cooling plant out of action and led to repairs of the compressor and control units. The hall has a kiosk, and between Christmas and New Year the club has run a Romjulshockey day, which drew more than 200 children and adults in 2024, with long queues at the kiosk all day.
The club calls it a natural meeting place for the whole village, and says it is especially inspiring to see everyone who took their very first steps on skates there during the winter.
