A 30 by 60 metre rink with stands for 300 and an instructor service during public sessions
The covered ice rink of the Ostrovets sports school, now known as the Ice Palace of Ostrovets, opened on 4 May 2023 at Oktyabrskaya 39. Its ice measures 30 by 60 metres, and the building has stands for 300 spectators, VIP boxes for guests and sponsors, changing rooms with showers, and a coaches' room.
The rink is used for mass skating, training by amateur and professional teams and figure skating practice, and for children's and youth sports festivals, charity events and other cultural events. During mass skating an instructor can give a 15-minute individual lesson within the session.
Mass skating runs in 45-minute sessions. The school posts two weeks at a time: three sessions on each of the Saturdays and on Sunday 11 October, with one Monday evening session and no sessions Tuesday to Friday. Separate adult and under-14 tickets are sold.
