Roofed in 1978/79, rebuilt in 2015

The city of Pfaffenhofen put a roof over the stadium in 1978/79 and built the stadium building that still stands, which was raised by a storey in 1997. In August 2013 a comprehensive renovation of the service building and a new roof structure were commissioned, and both were finished in the autumn of 2015.

The roof carries about 800 square metres of photovoltaic panels with an output of 112 kWp, at the time the largest municipal solar installation, and a new stand with a noise-protection wall completes the work on the west side. The municipal artificial-ice rink is used in winter by the local ice-sports club, by schools and by all skating fans of the region.

The home club, the Eissportclub Pfaffenhofen, was founded in 1970 and plays ice hockey and figure skating; its first team has played in the Bayernliga since 2000 and took the name Icehogs in 2002.
