Home of HC Prešov since 1967, rebuilt in 2019 and 2020
No public skating is posted for the next 7 days. New sessions show here as soon as the rink posts them.
The Zimný štadión in Prešov was built in 1967 and is the home rink of the hockey club HC Prešov. The operator says matches of the under-20 hockey world championship category were played on its ice in 1970, and in 1992 the hall staged an international under-20 match between Slovakia and the USA.
Because the hall is shaped like a saddle, it was called Sedlo aréna from 2005 to 2007 and later became known as the ICE aréna. The arena last saw a hockey frenzy in 1988, when a team from Dubnica came to town and 7,000 spectators watched the game.
In 2019 and 2020 the stadium was extensively rebuilt: the changing rooms and the ice-resurfacer room were refitted, new scoreboards were added, all the windows in the stands were replaced and new LED lights over the ice use half the energy of the old lighting. The city of Prešov owns the stadium, and the company Prešov Real, s.r.o. runs it.
