The skating highlight of Rendsburg's Christmas market
Every year the Stadtwerke SH Eisbahn takes over the Schiffbrückenplatz as the centre and highlight of De Lütte Wiehnacht, Rendsburg's Christmas market. Locals and guests from all directions know what awaits them there: the smell of roasted almonds and hot drinks, and above all skating.
On weekday mornings the ice is reserved for school classes and nursery groups. On Saturday mornings there are guided skating courses, with sessions for beginners and for advanced skaters on dated Saturdays in the run-up to Christmas and early in January.
The last school day before the Christmas break is celebrated here too, with a special entry rate for pupils. The rink closes on the third of January after a season of about six weeks.
