Kirnu, Rovaniemi's three-ice arena

Lappi Areena, nicknamed Kirnu, is a multi-purpose hall in Rovaniemi that hosts sports events, concerts and fairs. It is best known as the home arena of Rovaniemen Kiekko, who play in Mestis. The hall has three sheets of ice: a competition rink of 28 by 58 metres and two training rinks in separate training halls.

It has 3,500 seats, and 1,700 more can be set out on the floor. The hall can be changed from an ice hall into a concert venue in about four hours. Besides ice sports, Finnish volleyball championship matches have also been played there.

The senior and junior teams of Rovaniemen Kiekko, the figure skaters of Rovaniemen Taitoluistelijat, the rink bandy club Napapiirin Kaukalopallo, the junior teams of Napapiirin Pantterit and the recreational Reidars Hockey Team all train there regularly.
