Built in about 18 months beside the old Orbita stadium and opened on 5 August 2016 with a 30 x 60 m ice rink
Orbita in Samara's Promyshlenny district was built in about a year and a half on the site of the outdated Orbita stadium and was commissioned by May 2016. It opened ceremonially on Friday 5 August 2016, the city's first sports complex to combine a universal hall, an ice palace and a pool under one roof. At that time the region had no other building with a training rink, a gym and two pools under one roof.
The ice rink measures 30 by 60 metres and can host official ice hockey and figure skating competitions, and the stands seat almost 200. The scoreboard serves both sports. Specialists from the St Petersburg company Remexpo froze the ice; the builder's construction director noted that they had prepared the ice for the 2014 Olympics and for Lada Arena in Tolyatti.
The rink has hosted the All-Russian figure skating competition Samarochka and the Volga Federal District hockey championship.
