Norway's sports facility of the year 2019

Bugården ishall in Bugårdsparken, next to Sandefjord swimming hall, was opened on 18 March 2018 and is the third ice hall in Vestfold. The ice measures 30 by 60 metres, the size of an ordinary hockey rink, and is laid in mid-August and kept until mid-April. In summer the ice is taken out and the hall can be hired for other activities.

The hall is built with a glulam frame and solid timber walls and floors. In 2019 it was named Norway's sports facility of the year, and the jury praised its environmental focus, its aesthetic design and how the owner had made it easy to use.

Sandefjord Penguins play their home games in the hall, which is also the training arena for Sandefjord figure skating club and Sandefjord skating club. On Saturdays and Sundays the kiosk is open at the same time as open hall.
