Germany's largest mobile rink, looping through a seaside spa park

The EISWELT SCHARBEUTZ sets up in the Kurpark every winter and bills itself as the largest mobile ice rink in Germany, with more than 3,100 square metres of real ice. It has a large covered rink and an even bigger open-air rink. Skaters glide on real ice, and the whole site lies within the town's seaside spa park.

The two surfaces are joined by a skating loop, the largest in northern Germany, that winds through the illuminated Kurpark and crosses the Kurparksee on a bridge of its own. New in 2026 is an illuminated tunnel that skaters glide through on the loop.

The ice suits beginners and advanced skaters alike, and the smallest skaters who are still unsure on their blades can use skating aids. The season runs from mid-November into mid-February.
