The magic rink of Siegen's Christmas market
The Eislaufbahn is billed as the highlight of the season at the Siegen Weihnachtsmarkt, run by 3e-Märkte. Skaters glide across the shiny ice surrounded by twinkling lights and Christmas decorations. Families and friends use it as a meeting place to make memories during the festive season.
Even inexperienced skaters, newcomers and whole families can try their first steps on the ice thanks to the rental skates. Mulled wine and other treats are close at hand for a warm-up between laps, and eating and drinking on the ice itself is not allowed.
School classes get separate skating lessons in the morning hours and can plan the outing early through the online booking system. The rink belongs to the market at the Unteres Schloss, which runs from 20 November to 23 December and stays closed on Totensonntag.
